Submit Genotype Data

PharmGKB defines genotype data as data regarding genomic variants such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), repeats, insertions and deletions. There are a few options for submitting genotype information, listed below. After submitting to PharmGKB, we require all data to be reviewed by a PI for accuracy before displaying it on the public website. Please see our documentation regarding submission review and approval.

Upload genotype data in XML format

To submit genotype data via XML, the XML file must comply with the PharmGKB XML Schema.

Upload genotype data using web forms and Excel templates

You can create a submission online using the PharmGKB submission editor and various Excel templates for assembling the data. These templates are accompanied by detailed instructions and should be prepared in advance of submission. Please note that existing fields in the templates, including the instructions, must not be altered. Altering the templates will cause your submission to fail.

Upload sample sets using web forms and Excel templates

You can upload a single sample set and approve it independently of your other experimental data. Once you have done this, you can use this sample set repeatedly for later data submissions via the web forms/Excel templates. We highly encourage you to employ this new option, as it prevents duplication of sample set information caused by multiple submissions as part of different genotyping datasets.
